Semiconductor/Electronics
Manufacturing chips, memory cards and laser diodes are usually done at very high temperatures and under aggressive environments. Graphite is one of the rare materials capable of supporting such demanding processes.
Refractory
A wide range of furnace components and high temperature applications that utilize the strength and thermal properties of graphite, serving markets including fiber optics, fiberglass, sintering, continuous casting, glass and optics.
Mechanical
Wear and friction (bearings and thrust bearings, rotors, vanes) dynamic sealing, rotating shafts, pistons, and aerospace (main shaft or flex tubing APV seals) are among the applications that utilize the unique graphite elements of thermal shock, lubrication, corrosion and oxidation resistance and high density materials.
Laboratory
Delivering the most intricate designs as well as standardized, off-the shelf products. Availability is the finest in precision machining and CVD coating. Higher sensitivities and limited formation of stable carbides eliminate the absorption of liquid samples. High purity crucibles for O2, N2 and H2 analysis are available for popular analyzers.
EDM
Graphite is the material most widely used for EDM electrodes. It is easy to machine and very resistant to thermal shock. It has a low coefficient of thermal expansion, available in a variety of blocks. Main activities for EDM include aerospace and automotive applications.
High-Temperature Processing – ETV-ICP
Carbone offers ability to detect purity levels to less than 5 ppm. Some of the more difficult elements to evacuate during the purity process are easier for Carbone to detect due to a highly developed process. Customers’ expectations are routinely exceeded. Our ISOLOR® and PAPYEX® (flexible graphite) patented products make high-temperature processing needs easy to find the right and unique solutions for each need.
